Just days after gifting several musicians brand-new Toyota Fortuners, businessman Wicknell Chivayo recently extended his “generosity” to multi-award-winning contemporary musician Jah Prayzah and his four female dancers by presenting them with Toyota Aqua vehicles. To add to the gesture, Chivayo also gave Jah Prayzah a hefty cash gift of US$20,000.
Taking to Instagram, Chivayo expressed his excitement and appreciation for Zimbabwe’s music scene after attending the Harare Shutdown Concert at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on November 30. He attended the event with friends and reflected on the experience, describing it as “nothing short of remarkable” while highlighting the exceptional talent of Zimbabwean artists.
“REWARDING HARD WORK AND COMMITMENT… This last Saturday was nothing short of REMARKABLE! I am naturally not a person who enjoys going out, as much of my time is devoted to church and business meetings in pursuit of my livelihood. However, I chose to step away from my routine and treat myself to the HARARE SHUTDOWN CONCERT at the HICC, alongside a few friends. The performance far exceeded my expectations and served as a reminder of the INCREDIBLE TALENT present in Zimbabwe’s music industry,” said Chivayo.
He expressed particular admiration for Jah Prayzah’s performance, describing it as “world-class” and exceptional. He also commended the 3rd Generation Band for their flawless execution and noted the vibrant energy of the female dancers, who made a lasting impression.
“Of all the phenomenal performances, JAH PRAYZAH distinguished himself with his world-class presentation and a live band that was nothing short of SPECTACULAR. The 3rd Generation Band exemplified remarkable synchronization, but it was the young, ENERGETIC female dancers who truly captivated me. Their SMILES, elegant attire, and ELECTRIC ENERGY kept me engaged throughout the performance. As someone who values HARD WORK and PASSION, I was profoundly moved by their commitment and dedication. These young women exemplify how TALENT, when coupled with DEDICATION, can set individuals apart,” he said.
In recognition of the extraordinary talent displayed at the Harare Shutdown Concert, Chivayo honored the four female dancers for their exceptional contributions to Jah Prayzah’s performance.
“At my level, it would be unthinkable to witness such excellence and not provide a reward. Congratulations to the FOUR FEMALE DANCERS who gave their utmost that night; please proceed to ENTERPRISE CAR SALE and see Madzibaba Chipaga to collect a TOYOTA AQUA each. To my esteemed colleague Jah Prayzah, I am aware that you are currently driving the LATEST Mercedes Benz S500, but you certainly deserve an AKWAYA for Mukudzeyi Jnr’s school commute, as your EXCEPTIONAL VISION and MENTORSHIP of these young women is beyond mere words. You merit celebration. Let this serve as a REMINDER that regardless of one’s position in life, if you PUT IN YOUR BEST, rewards will come unexpectedly.”
Chivayo has not only been gifting artists but, alongside Hon. Scott Sakupwanya, recently donated US$250,000 to the Zimbabwe Warriors national football team. He also delivered 20 Toyota Aquas to the 2024 ZIFA Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) champions, Scottland.
