It never rains but it pours for the ‘Might’ DeMbare team. As the Glamour Boys returned in Harare after being humiliated by Highlanders team.
For the past years since 2015, Dynamos team has failed to conquer their main rivals.
The two teams faced each other for the traditional Independence Uhuru Cup. As predicted by the Highlander Head Coach Brito that they will crush their main opponents.
Highlanders defended the cup and brought it back home.
During the 31 minutes of the game, a red card was given to Andrew Mbeba leaving Bosso with at least ten men with all teams still goal less.
In the 30th minute of the match, Melikhaya Ncube he had tried to work his way round his man on the right however he was fouled, and free kick was given to Highlanders.
In the 42 minutes before half time, Peter Muduhwa’s defence stopped DeMbare from scoring a goal. In the second half, many spectators thought it was Highlanders’ chance to score a goal as they had many chances to do so.
In the 60-minute Dynamos had a ball inside the back of the net but the offside flag was up. The Glamour boys had another chance in the 80 minutes as Arthur made a shot which was blocked by Ariel Sibanda.
Time was up and it was time for penalties.
Ariel Sibanda took the first penal and scored. However, it was Peter Muduhwa and Mckinnin Mushore who made no mistake and scored goals that saved the day.
Some sports commentators, lambasted the ground that was used for the two country’s giants to face each other for one of the country’s biggest title.
The two teams are still going to face each other for the Castle Larger Match day 4 round, which is billed to be an electric encounter.
