Afro Phoenix is an international fashion brand founded by renowned designer Blessing Munjeri.
This exclusive brand has been a dominant force in the fashion industry, both locally and internationally, and its founder has high hopes that this year will close on a strong note.
Afro Phoenix recently captured attention with its latest collection, unveiled at the Afro-Zim T10, titled “All in One.” The collection showcased designs suited for all four seasons: summer, autumn, winter, and spring.
Though it debuted several months ago, pieces from the “All in One” collection continue to resonate, with international fashion enthusiasts expressing interest in acquiring these designs.
Speaking to My Afrika Magazine, Munjeri emphasized the critical role of the models who presented his designs at the event, noting how they contributed to the storytelling of the collection.
He also advised models and designers to cultivate stronger partnerships, believing that a united effort can drive significant growth in both the fashion and modeling sectors.
Munjeri encouraged models collaborating with Afro Phoenix not to give up on their careers, reassuring them that bigger opportunities lie ahead.
“My models are not just models; they are my family, Afro Phoenix models. I am incredibly proud of how they carried themselves on the runway and how they wore the designs, they truly made it the best of the best. My advice to them is: never give up. It is not just about money, but about who is watching. This industry is not magic; success does not happen overnight. It is all about dedication, hard work, and resilience, so keep pushing,” he said.
The “All in One” showcase featured models including Byron Mulinga, Hillary, Takudzwa Machingura, Tinashe Chigumba, and Aaron Kahari, among others.
One unique aspect of Afro Phoenix lies in Munjeri’s choice of fabrics. He carefully selects prints that tell an African story, so the designs reflect Africa’s heritage when worn.
“I focus on African prints because they represent Africa and stand out. There is no need to ask someone if they are African; it is evident. When I find a fabric I want, I get excited and start visualizing the design I can bring to life,” Munjeri shared.
Afro Phoenix has headlined international fashion shows in Malawi, Tanzania, and South Africa.
