For an air-tight tourism package I managed to indulge myself to the fullest.

Vumba is beautiful, it’s a breath-taking destination that is endowed with a lot of things to see. This particular tour was superb because we boarded our coaster in my very own hometown Marondera instead of going to Harare. There is no need to talk about that long stretch from Marondera to Mutare because I always say Mutare is practically the Gateway to Eastern Highlands Tourism.

In Mutare we picked up some of our fellow avid tourists because we were actually promoting the Domestic Touurism Festive Season in real time. From the majestic town of Mutare we headed for Vumba the promised land. It was quite an experience because we had a very resourceful tour guide who made the itinerary very special for everyone. Not to forget the driver who navigated the countless meandering roads of Vumba Heights. The Boterekwa’s as they like to call them in Shona were lathered in thick forests making the journey more intriguing. Vumba is a jawdropper and I had to school my features because my mouth was gaping half of the time.

Apparently, Zimbabwe is a World of Wonders because we learnt that Vumba means mist and it is literally joined at the hip with Mozambique. To spice things up, we experienced the Lion Rock and Bunga Forest. As if that was not enough, we visited Nyachowa or Chasing Falls and I got to walk in those crystal clear water. Allow me to say that, it was magical and surreal.

Getting back to the coaster we headed for the Vumba Botanical Gardens. These gardens are so popular that if you search it up on Google you will get a taste of what I’m talking about. As part of Highland Tourism, Vumba is playing a huge role when it comes to our tourism operations. The flowers, manicured loans, restaurant and the pool you name it was eye candy that is we could not get enough of it. We had our lunch, played some target shooting in this paradise of a garden and a photoshoot to boot.

Later on, we were on our way to Leopard Rock, a resort which is colored in pink and it comes with a castle, golf course and a gamepark as well. Thus, we were all over the place feeding the ostriches and admiring the hotel at that.

All this happened on 31 December 2025 and for once I started 2026 on a higher note courtesy of royalvacationszw. This company has managed to market our country with it’s myriad of tour packages that are laden with immersive excursions.
