Johannesburg – The curtains are set to close on one of South Africa’s most beloved television dramas. e.tv has announced that Scandal!, the SAFTA award-winning daily soap opera, will air its final episode in June 2026, bringing an end to more than two decades of captivating storytelling.

Since its debut, Scandal! has become a household name, drawing millions of viewers with gripping storylines and unforgettable characters that reflected the complexities of South African life. The show consistently sparked conversations around real-life issues while setting new standards in local television production.

In a statement, e.tv expressed gratitude to Ochre Moving Pictures, the production company behind Scandal!, as well as the cast, writers, directors, and crew who contributed to the show’s success. “Producing Scandal! has been an incredible journey and a true labour of love,” said Stan Joseph, Executive Producer at Ochre Moving Pictures. “While it is bittersweet to say goodbye, we are proud of the legacy Scandal! leaves behind.

The drama will continue airing until its conclusion in mid-2026, giving fans the chance to enjoy a memorable finale. e.tv also thanked its loyal viewers who welcomed Scandal! into their homes for over 20 years, cementing its place as one of the most successful long-running soap operas in South African television history.
