Air Zimbabwe has announced that it will continue servicing the Harare–Mutare–Victoria Falls route, a development that extends the national airline’s reach beyond the recent Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanai World Tourism Expo.

The route, initially introduced to facilitate travel for attendees of the 15th edition of the Expo held at Mutare Sports Club, quickly proved essential beyond the event itself. Due to the overwhelmingly positive response, the airline has upgraded the service to operate daily flights, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening domestic tourism and fostering regional economic integration.

“This route has received an overwhelmingly positive response across the board,” said Air Zimbabwe Chief Executive Officer, Edmund Makona. “It has evolved from an event-specific service to a permanent arrangement, providing essential air access to the Eastern Highlands.”

The route will operate from Harare – Mutare (Grand Reef Aerodrome) – Victoria Falls, with fares set at US$85 one-way and US$170 return.

Beyond boosting tourism, the expanded service is expected to play a key role in advancing national development goals, enabling trade, and connecting communities across Zimbabwe.

“We are proud to serve as a bridge; linking communities, enabling trade, and showcasing Zimbabwe’s breathtaking destinations,” added Makona.

Air Zimbabwe has encouraged both travellers and tourism operators to take full advantage of the new route, which underscores the airline’s renewed focus on supporting the growth of Zimbabwe’s tourism sector and overall economic progress.
