Dallas, Texas – The countdown is on for the second edition of the African Vibration Music and Culture Festival, set to take place at the University of Texas at Dallas. Promising to be a kaleidoscope of rhythm, heritage, and innovation, this year’s event is poised to elevate African and diaspora culture to thrilling new heights.

Following a groundbreaking debut in June 2024—headlined by none other than Zimbabwean music legend Dr. Thomas Mapfumo and the Blacks Unlimited—the 2025 edition is being described as “unmissable” by organizers, artists, and fans alike.

From vibrant exhibitions along the Magnolia Sidewalks, to mind-blowing DJ sets at The Plinth, and world-class performances at ATC Hall, African Vibration is more than a festival—it’s a movement.

“We are ready to bring a diverse culture and unforgettable experience at this year’s edition of the African Vibration Music Festival in Dallas, Texas,” said Gram Tinashe Makwarimba, social entrepreneur and world music promoter.

West Africa’s finest, GRAMMY Award winner Dobet Gnahoré, is set to grace the main stage with her high-energy fusion of dance, percussion, and soul-stirring vocals. A globally respected artist from Côte d’Ivoire, Dobet’s genre-bending style fuses Afro-pop, traditional rhythms, and dazzling choreography that speaks to the spirit of the continent.

Southern Africa’s breakout sensation, Sakidi Official, brings an Afro-fusion style deeply rooted in Shona and Chewa traditions. A multi-instrumentalist and powerful vocalist, Sakidi weaves the timeless sounds of mbira and acoustic guitar into a contemporary tapestry, creating music that bridges past and present.

Representing North Africa, Morocco’s genre-defying collective Zar Electrik promises to mesmerize audiences with a sound that merges Maghreb, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the West. Blending ancient instruments like the gumbri and oud with electronic beats and electric kora, their performance is set to be a transcendent cultural journey.

From the United States, powerhouse Ebony Payne-English brings her award-winning brand of dub poetry and spoken word to the stage. A celebrated educator, human rights advocate, and performer, Ebony’s voice is as powerful as it is poetic—sure to resonate deeply with the audience.

Watusi World, a top-tier reggae and worldbeat collective, will unite rhythms from the Caribbean, Africa, and the Americas in a fiery live set. Known for their motto “One World, One God, One Love,” Watusi’s performances are more than musical—they’re spiritual.

The DJ Stage at The Plinth will feature 10 dynamic DJs spinning Afrobeat, Amapiano, Afro-house, and dancehall—from West, East, Central, and North Africa, the U.S., and the Caribbean. Highlights include DJ DIDDY, DJ DEEDEE, and the genre-fluid DJ Rooty Red, ready to electrify East African vibes under the Texas sky.

Beyond the music, African Vibration invites attendees to engage with thought-provoking keynote speakers and panel discussions at ATC Hall, spotlighting influential voices from across the continent and the diaspora. These dialogues will tackle everything from culture and innovation to identity and the arts—making this festival as intellectually rich as it is entertaining.

With a curated blend of live music, art installations, cultural exhibitions, and empowering dialogue, African Vibration 2025 is more than a celebration—it’s a statement. It’s a bold, beautiful reminder of the global power of African creativity.
