Marondera, Zimbabwe — The #ForwardThinkingWomen initiative, spearheaded by the enterprising Bongani Makoni, held a vibrant and insightful breakfast meeting in Marondera, setting itself apart from the inaugural Harare event.

“I lost my job and realized that I was not ready for what lay ahead of me as I had planned,” Makoni shared, emphasizing the necessity of preparation for women. “We need to be adequately prepared for the future in all aspects of our lives. We orate for many things in life. But are we intentional when we prepare? We need to prepare mentally for our mental health, physical health, financial affairs, legally, and investments.”

The Marondera meeting featured a dynamic range of discussions. Speakers illuminated various critical topics, including mental health, navigating the digital age with children, the power of the law, and the importance of fitness. These discussions created opportunities for networking in an intimate and supportive environment.

When asked about the possibility of future events, Makoni affirmed, “Yes, definitely. The idea was to bring this to different parts of the country and get these areas talking about it in their communities with their community leaders in their spaces. I hope to also launch this online. As a life coach, speaker, and mentor, I aim to encourage women and individuals in their personal journeys to become forward-thinking and help them achieve their goals.”

The #ForwardThinkingWomen initiative continues to inspire and uplift, fostering a community where vulnerability is celebrated as a cornerstone of strength. Through these meetings, women are empowered to take proactive steps in all facets of their lives, contributing to a more resilient and prepared future generation.
