Zimbabwean rugby talent continues to make its mark in the United Kingdom, with Titus Gwaze and Cleopas Kundiona flying the national flag high in rugby league and rugby union respectively.

Zimbabwe-born forward Titus Gwaze has signed a one-year deal with Doncaster in the English Rugby League Championship, following an impressive spell at Sheffield Eagles. In a sport where Zimbabwean representation remains rare, Gwaze stands out as one of the country’s few professionals in the British rugby league scene.

The 26-year-old has built a reputation for consistency and resilience, with stints at Wakefield Trinity, Oldham, London Broncos, Halifax Panthers and Sheffield Eagles. With more than 130 Championship appearances and 15 tries, Gwaze brings experience, work rate and defensive strength to a Doncaster side that has started the 2026 campaign in strong form.

Zimbabwe international Cleopas Kundiona is set to start at tighthead prop for Northampton Saints in their Premiership Rugby Cup clash against Leicester Tigers. The powerful Sables front-rower has featured seven times this season and is eager to help Saints build momentum against Pool B leaders Leicester.

Together, Gwaze and Kundiona exemplify Zimbabwe’s growing sporting footprint beyond traditional codes, proving that the nation’s talent continues to compete, and excel, on some of the world’s biggest rugby stages.
