Victoria Falls based model Future Nyoni has risen the Zimbabwean flag high at the Mister International Africa Pageant. Nyoni was the first runner up in the recently ended pageant and won a prize for Best dressed suit. In the pageants’ history, Nyoni is Zimbabwe’s highest-ranking contestant (he is the second Zimbabwean to make it to the top three and the first to be in the position of first runner up).

“We want to appreciate everyone who supported us from those who voted and those who supported us physically, financially and emotionally and through your prayers.”

Nyoni was among those who had applied to represent, Zimbabwe at Mister Africa International. He won the Zimbabwean crown and proceeded to represent Zimbabwe in the international contest which spanned from the 9th to the 19th of October (the event was slated for Nigeria but was moved to an online event).

Through a number of stages, the final stage required a question-and-answer segment with the top three finalists (Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Liberia). Nigerian contestant, Rickie Osaze, eventually came first.

Nyoni commented, “The journey has not been easy, from challenges with our countries’ cards to network challenges but we still sailed through and conquered. Without you my family, friends and fans I wouldn’t have made it this far and I am eternally grateful.”

In the future, Nyoni envisions creating a modelling agency that will cater for male models across the continent, he has been vocal of the need to promote male models.
