Zimbabwean fashion designer Brightman Dlamini is set to shine on the international stage as he headlines the prestigious SA Menswear Week, scheduled for October 21–25, 2025, at Wonderland Film Studio in Cape Town.
The annual showcase, regarded as one of Africa’s premier fashion events, will bring together top international designers and models to present cutting-edge collections on the runway. Among the stars is Dlamini, the multi-award-winning founder of the brand Tocar, who confirmed his participation with excitement.
“I’m thrilled to be headlining SA Menswear Week, showcasing my spring/summer collection. This is an incredible opportunity to present my country’s culture, heritage, and pride to the world,” Dlamini told My Afrika Magazine.
He added: “Headlining an event such as SA Menswear Week is not just about showcasing my designs; it’s about sharing my heritage and culture with the world and networking with other international designers.”
Dlamini’s Tocar label is already a familiar name on global platforms. His Khoisan-inspired collection “I Wear Culture” recently captivated audiences in Bulawayo, leaving fashion lovers in awe of his unique fusion of tradition and modernity.
A proud resident of Victoria Falls, Dlamini will now join an elite roster of designers who have previously graced SA Menswear Week, including Nkululeko Ncube, Tafadzwa Moyo, Nyambo Masa, Jozi Collective, and Imprint ZW.
He emphasized that participating in the event is about more than exposure: “This event allows me to network and connect with other international designers, which is crucial for my brand’s growth and success.”
The SA Menswear Week Spring/Summer 2026 Collections form part of a much larger fashion program that also features womenswear collections, the Global Fashion Graduate Programme, FASHtalks, SHOWrooms, GRADweek, installations, and public exhibitions.
The Global Fashion Graduate 2025 program will run alongside the Week of Fashion, showcasing top graduates from leading fashion schools through exhibitions, symposiums, and runway shows.
While general tickets for Fashion Week are not on sale, a ticket lottery will grant 50 lucky winners access to the exclusive runway events. However, public exhibitions, SHOWrooms, and installations will open free of charge on October 24 and 25 from 14h00 daily.
With Brightman Dlamini’s Tocar headlining, SA Menswear Week promises to be a cultural and creative spectacle that celebrates the very best of African fashion on the global stage.
