Zimbabwe is set to make its mark on the global fashion stage as Priscilla Chigariro, founder of Zimbabwe Fashion Week, prepares to attend the prestigious BRICS+ Fashion Summit in Moscow. Held from October 3 to 5, the event is the largest gathering of its kind, focused on emerging fashion markets. It will bring together leaders, designers, manufacturers, and experts from across the world to explore the future of fashion and foster international cooperation.
The summit features a comprehensive business program, alongside the International Exhibition “Heritage,” showcasing modern interpretations of cultural influences in fashion design. This exhibition highlights the fusion of tradition and modernity, with contributions from countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
Priscilla Chigariro’s participation underscores Zimbabwe’s growing influence in the fashion industry. She will engage in discussions about innovation, sustainable development, and how Zimbabwe’s fashion expertise can play a key role in elevating emerging brands on the global stage. “The BRICS+ Fashion Summit serves as a vital communication platform for countries like Zimbabwe,” says Chigariro. “It provides an opportunity for us to showcase our talent and engage with global fashion leaders. For a country like Zimbabwe, where the fashion industry has untapped potential, this summit creates a bridge for us to enter larger markets.”

Following the summit, Moscow Fashion Week will take over from October 4 to 9, spotlighting designers from Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Russia, South Africa, Costa Rica, and the UAE, further cementing Moscow’s status as a hub for emerging fashion markets.
