Zimbabwe Fashion Week (ZFW) 2024 is proud to announce an official media partnership with My Afrika Magazine, a vibrant and dynamic online publication focused on “Telling our own African stories.” The collaboration will see My Afrika Magazine serve as the official online media partner for the highly anticipated fashion event, set to take place later this year.
“We are thrilled to welcome My Afrika Magazine as the official online media partner for Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2024. This collaboration is a testament to the power of storytelling and our shared commitment to elevating African fashion and culture on a global stage,” said Priscilla Chigariro, Founder & Executive Producer of Zimbabwe Fashion Week. “My Afrika Magazine’s reach and reputation for capturing the essence of contemporary African narratives make them the perfect partner to help us showcase the innovative talents and diverse voices that define ZFW2024.”
My Afrika Magazine is renowned for its editorial mandate of shaping a positive narrative of Africa and her people, both on the continent and beyond. “With a mission to celebrate African achievements, our magazine connects the diaspora market with home and home with the diaspora, enabling conversations around progressive social, economic, and developmental issues.” said Charmaine Brown, Editor at My Afrika Magazine.
Through this partnership, My Afrika Magazine will highlight stories that might never reach mainstream media, focusing on grassroots-level success stories that reflect the spirit of African creativity.
This year’s Zimbabwe Fashion Week promises an immersive experience, featuring runway shows headlined by prominent designers Koketso Chiepe of Koki Kamala and Aristide Loua of Kente Gentlemen. The event will also include a B2C showroom, offering fashion enthusiasts and buyers an opportunity to connect directly with designers. Additionally, attendees can expect thought-provoking panel discussions led by Walter Chipambwa, Head of Education at the Hunhu Council of Fashion, where industry leaders—including the headline designers—will explore the evolution of African fashion and the business of fashion.
“With My Afrika Magazine as our media partner, we will amplify these stories and ensure the impact of ZFW2024 resonates far beyond the runway,” added Chigariro.
The partnership with My Afrika Magazine marks a significant step in ZFW’s mission to showcase Africa’s rich fashion talent and cultural heritage, while also promoting meaningful dialogues within the fashion industry.
“We are excited to join the fashion creatives and lovers in the beautiful resort town of Victoria Falls, as our team share the fashion spectacle” added Brown
