As pageant enthusiasts and Miss Supranational fans across the globe start piecing together the puzzle of who will represent their respective countries at Miss Supranational 2025 in Poland this June, Zimbabwe is among the nations expected to send at least one delegate to compete.

Notably, no Zimbabwean candidate has participated in Mister Supranational. The last time Zimbabwe sent a delegate to Mister Supranational was two years ago, when model icon Tatenda Njanike represented the nation.

This year, many preferences are vying for the title of Miss Supranational Zimbabwe, including Ruvimbo Njomboro, Eva Mzondiwa, Pauline Marere, Yolanda Chimusoro, Shelly Usman, Lerato Masocha, Anusi Mandevani, Challen Mhondiwa, Brenda Kadewa, Agape Mandizvida, Zhjanei Chimboza, and Stacey Hall. The newly crowned queen, who will represent Zimbabwe in Poland on June 28, will unfortunately be crowned outside her home country.

According to Ntombi Gumede, license holder of Miss Supranational Zimbabwe 2025, the event marks a historic moment as the first-ever inter-country partnership between South Africa and Zimbabwe.

“This event makes history as the first-ever inter-country partnership between South Africa and Zimbabwe, bringing together pageantry, culture, and a shared vision of empowerment in a celebration that will be known as the inter-country festival of beauty,” she stated.

When questioned by My Afrika Magazine as to why the event was being held in South Africa rather than Zimbabwe, Ms Gumede cited lack of sponsorship as the primary factor. Additionally, she noted that South Africa is home to many Zimbabweans who have relocated there, and the event’s location in Polokwane is situated near Matabeleland South Province, with areas such as Beit-Bridge, Gwanda, and Esigodini.

“The pageant is happening in South Africa on that same weekend, due to not finding sponsors for the event in Zimbabwe, we decided to use the resources we already have planned for Miss Teen Universe SA,” she informed.

Miss Supranational Zimbabwe will also be attended by Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Sakhile Dube, and Miss Earth Zimbabwe, Kimberly Tatenda, who will serve as judges for the finalists.

Sun Meropa Casino is the setting of the finalist on the 23rd of March.
