Young Zimbabweans aged 18-35 with groundbreaking digital ideas to promote transparency, public accountability, and integrity are being called to participate in the #FollowTheMoney Hackathon. This innovative initiative, spearheaded by USAID Zimbabwe in collaboration with ZIMCODD, aims to empower youth-driven solutions that tackle critical governance challenges.

The hackathon offers an impressive grant of up to $10,000 in seed funding for promising digital concepts. Participants are encouraged to develop tools and platforms that facilitate whistleblowing, enhance accountability tracking, and raise public awareness about financial mismanagement and corruption.

Who Can Apply?

  • Zimbabwean residents aged 18-35.
  • Individuals or teams capable of implementing their solution in Zimbabwe.

How to Apply
Interested applicants must submit an Expression of Interest that includes:

  1. A brief description of their digital solution.
  2. An outline of how the idea will work.
  3. A financial proposal detailing how the funds will be utilized.

Submissions should be sent to zimcoddzimcodd@gmail.com. The solution must be scalable, replicable, locally relevant, and demonstrate value for money. It should be ready for launch within a month of receiving the grant and capable of sustaining itself for a year on the proposed funding.
