Another Title for Queen Yollanda Chimbarami
From one crown to another, Queen Yollanda Chimbarami continues to shine. This past weekend, she was crowned Miss Supranational Zimbabwe at a prestigious event, giving her the opportunity to represent Zimbabwe at the Miss Supranational 2024 pageant in Poland on July 6th.
At 26 years old, Yollanda Chimbarami is a multi-talented artist and entrepreneur currently residing in Canada. She competed against other beauty queens from across Zimbabwe and emerged victorious, adding another title to her impressive portfolio.
Queen Chimbarami takes over from Queen Sakhile, who was crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2024 just a week before passing the Miss Supranational title to Yollanda. Yollanda’s journey in the world of beauty pageants is noteworthy; she was a finalist in the Miss World Zimbabwe 2014 and represented Zimbabwe in Egypt during Miss Intercontinental Zimbabwe 2022.
“To be honest, it means a lot to be Miss Supranational Zimbabwe. This isn’t my first time contesting in this pageant; it’s my second attempt, and I’ve been dreaming of this moment for a very long time. This is the biggest crown I’ve won in my modeling career, and I am truly excited to put Zimbabwe on the map once again, but this time on a much larger platform. Right now, I am preparing for Poland. By the way, Supranational is one of the top five grand slams in the universe.” said Yollanda Chimbarami
Beyond her achievements in pageantry, Yollanda is the founder of the shoe brand ‘YC Yollanda’ and is involved in acting. She voices two characters in the popular Disney animated series “Supa Strikas” and has an impressive acting portfolio with roles in films like “Windfall,” “In Plain Sight” (now on Amazon), “Finally Caught,” “Stump the Guesser,” “The Rabbit Hunter,” and “The Day My Job Tried to Kill Me.”
Yollanda is also deeply committed to charity work. She co-founded the initiative Help A Child Save A Nation, which provides tuition funding to children each semester. Her dedication to education and youth empowerment extends to her role as a United Nations panelist at a conference in Canada, where she advocates for access to education in Africa. Additionally, she volunteers for the United Nations and serves as a youth ambassador for the Rick Hansen Foundation.
The Miss Supranational Zimbabwe event, held in Harare, was graced by notable guest judges, including Mister Supranational Zimbabwe and multi-award-winning model Tatenda Njanike, and multi-award-winning journalist Tafadzwa Zimoyo, known as ‘The Boss.’
Yollanda Chimbarami’s new title as Miss Supranational Zimbabwe not only celebrates her beauty and talent but also highlights her dedication to uplifting others and making a positive impact on her community and beyond.
