A donation of 23,000 tonnes of fertilisers from Uralchem Group has arrived in Zimbabwe, facilitated by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). The shipment, including potash and NPKS fertiliser, was transported by sea from Europe to Mozambique’s port of Beira and then delivered by land to Zimbabwe.

This contribution is part of Uralchem Group’s ongoing humanitarian efforts, marking their fifth shipment to African nations to bolster sustainable farming and combat the effects of a global food crisis. Since late 2022, the Group has donated over 134,000 tonnes of fertilisers to Africa, with WFP assisting in the transport of more than 111,000 tonnes to Malawi, Kenya, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe.

Covering the sea freight and delivery expenses, Uralchem Group’s commitment extends to approximately 300,000 tonnes of fertilisers for developing nations facing famine risks. This initiative aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal #2, focusing on ending hunger and promoting sustainable agriculture.
