The U.S. Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, has been confirmed as the keynote speaker and guest of honor at the 10th Powering Africa Summit (PAS) scheduled to take place at JW Marriott in Washington, D.C., from March 6-7.

The summit, themed “The Future of the US & Africa Energy Partnership,” seeks to address the strategic energy relationship between the U.S. and Africa. In his keynote address, Secretary Wright will outline his vision for advancing energy innovation and removing barriers to energy access. He will be joined by other prominent U.S. government representatives, including Ambassador Troy Fitrell, Kimberly Harrington, and Stephen Banks, who will also share their insights on the future of U.S.-Africa energy cooperation.

The summit will feature a significant Ministerial contingent from Africa, with speakers from 20 countries collaborating with institutional investors, private financiers, and service providers to drive energy development across the continent. Key discussions will focus on derisking projects, regional energy cooperation, and emerging opportunities such as bitcoin mining and data centers.

The event will also include the 10th Anniversary Gala Drinks Reception, sponsored by Genesis Energy, to celebrate International Women’s Day. Prominent private players such as Alliant Insurance Services, GE Vernova, ARM-Harith Infrastructure Investment, and Sun Africa, the summit’s general sponsor, will participate in the discussions.

Adam Cortese, CEO of Sun Africa, emphasized the importance of U.S. energy companies thriving in emerging markets through innovative structures and strong alliances. Simon Gosling, MD of Energy Net, highlighted the summit’s role in connecting African countries seeking investment with U.S.-based investors, underlining the crucial need for energy projects across Africa.
