South African star Tyla has claimed the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, winning with her hit single “Push 2 Start” and cementing her place among the continent’s leading global voices.
The victory saw Tyla edge out a strong field that included Nigerian heavyweights Burna Boy (“Love”), Davido featuring Omah Lay (“With You”), Ayra Starr and Wizkid (“Gimme Dat”), as well as “Hope & Love” by Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin.
The Grammy win marks another major milestone in Tyla’s fast-rising international career, highlighting the growing global impact of African music and artists. With “Push 2 Start” now a Grammy-winning record, Tyla adds her name to an expanding list of African artists redefining global music excellence.
