After weeks of intense competition, Sweet Guluva has emerged as the Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 winner, walking away with a grand prize of R2 million.
The reality show, which started in January with 24 contestants, came to an electrifying conclusion on March 23, with host Smash Afrika announcing the winner during the live grand finale. Fans watched as the final two contestants, Sweet Guluva and Uyanda, stepped onto the arena stage to hear their fate.
The night began with Jojo (Karabo Sejojo), a 24-year-old entrepreneur, being the first finalist to be evicted, followed by Nate, who finished in the Top 4. Nsuku was next to leave, securing a Top 3 spot.
This left the grand prize battle between Uyanda, a professional teacher, and Sweet Guluva, a university student. The two had already made their mark as Friday Night Games champions, proving to be formidable competitors throughout the season.
Before exiting the Big Brother House, the final two were given a special farewell task by Big Brother—visiting each room one last time as the lights were switched off, marking the end of their journey.
On the live stage, the suspense finally ended as Sweet Guluva was crowned the winner, having received an overwhelming 53.48% of the votes. Runner-up Uyanda secured 31.67%, making it a hard-fought competition.
With millions of fans tuning in via DStv Channel 198, Big Brother Mzansi Season 5: Umlilo proved to be one of the most thrilling seasons yet. As Sweet Guluva celebrates his R2 million win, fans eagerly await what’s next for the Big Brother Mzansi champion.
