Harare is gearing up for one of its most ambitious cultural showcases yet as the Sunshine City Festival returns for its third edition in 2026.

Organised by Tamba Events, the festival has swiftly grown from a promising debut in 2024 into a flagship celebration positioning the capital firmly on Africa’s events calendar. Its previous editions drew regional acclaim, hosting top-tier performers including Winky D, Jah Prayzah, DJ Maphorisa and Prince Kaybee, alongside international ensembles such as the 32-member Altai group — cementing its reputation as a serious cultural platform.

The 2026 edition promises an expanded three-day experience, with organisers confirming an even broader international lineup.

Described as Harare’s ultimate celebration of music, arts, culture and sport, the festival is designed as an inclusive urban experience appealing to music lovers, art enthusiasts, families and sports fans alike. This year’s theme, “Convergence: Different Paths, One City,” reflects a deliberate effort to unite diverse communities through shared cultural expression.

The Main Stage will host high-energy performances, while the Chillzone Stage offers acoustic and ambient sets. A dedicated Theatre Stage will spotlight drama, comedy, poetry and traditional showcases, broadening the festival into a multidisciplinary arts platform.

Beyond music, attendees can expect a vibrant food and drink showcase, immersive art installations and interactive exhibitions highlighting Zimbabwe’s visual arts scene. In a dynamic fusion of culture and athletics, the programme will also feature a marathon, golf tournament and soccer matches — reinforcing the festival’s commitment to participation, diversity and city-wide celebration.

As anticipation builds, Sunshine City Festival continues to signal Harare’s growing confidence as a creative capital ready for the continental spotlight.
