Team A Cricket announced a squad that will face Netherlands in three ODIs which are to be held
Prominent Zimbabwe’s International cricketers Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl will be joining the team as they are back from franchise cricket commitments, with the team having been further boosted by the return from injury of Sean Williams, Tendai Chatara and Blessing Muzarabani.
The five players had previously missed the Test series against the West Indies which was held in Bulawayo last month, with Muzarabani having been side-lined since last November with a muscle injury, while Williams fractured a finger and Chatara suffered a thigh injury during the white-ball series against Ireland in Harare at the beginning of the year.
The ODI matches between Zimbabwe and the Netherlands, are dated to be held for the 21st, 23rd and 25th of March at Harare Sports Club, are part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League that is serving as the direct qualification route for the 2023 Cricket World Cup to be staged in India.
The 13-team league competition will see the top eight sides, including India as the hosts, earn direct qualification to the global showcase.
Although both Zimbabwe and the Netherlands are already out of contention for direct qualification, their Super League meeting remains crucial as they start preparing for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023.
The qualifier will be staged in Zimbabwe with the top two nations from the 10 team tournament joining eight others in India. (Source Zimbabwe Cricket).
