The Junior Idol World 2025 pageant, held on the 7th of July, in Bangkok, Thailand, witnessed a remarkable display of talent and poise from young contestants around the globe.
Africa was well-represented by Botswana, Uganda, and South Africa, with Botswana’s delegation making a particularly significant impact.
Five talented young girls from Botswana shone brightly on the international stage, bringing home numerous awards and accolades.
The impressive list of achievements includes:
- Little Miss Junior Idol World 1st Runner-up: Marang Isago Sapelo, who also won the Best Catwalk Award
- Miss Pre-Teen Junior Idol World 2nd Runner-up: Tanisha Leepile, who also received the Best Sportswear Award
- Mini Miss Junior Idol World 3rd Runner-up: Isago Phoebe Ralethaka, who impressed with her Best Interview Award
- Miss Pre-Teen Junior World Rising Star: Katlego Matheakgomo, who won the Photogenic Award
- Little Miss Junior Idol World: Kalen Siti, who also won the Rising Star Award



The success of Botswana’s contestants can be attributed to the tireless efforts of their National Director, Lebogang D Matheakgomo, who was recognized with three prestigious awards:
- Best National Director
- Best Supportive Director
- Appreciation Certificate
This year’s edition marked the 4th staging of the event, which drew participants from over 30 countries, including the Philippines, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia and Thailand amongst others.
The outstanding performance of Botswana’s young contestants at Junior Idol World 2025 is a shining example of the country’s growing presence in the international pageant scene. As these young stars continue to shine, they inspire others to pursue their passions and dreams.
