Despite the summer heat in South Africa, fashion designers are hard at work unveiling their Autumn/Winter 2025 collections at the prestigious South African Fashion Week.

Held from 26 to 28 September at Melrose Arch in Johannesburg, this year’s event marks the 27th edition of one of the longest-running fashion shows in the country, attracting fashion designers, enthusiasts, and buyers alike.

The event will feature 13 shows, with 40 collections over three days, highlighting notable designers such as Erre, House of Olé, Naked Ape, Thabo Makhetha, Ephymol, and The Bam Collective. Palesa Mokubung, the renowned founder and creative director of Mantsho, also made waves with her vibrant, bold prints and sophisticated designs, which have become synonymous with African luxury.

Thabo Makhetha kicked off day one with a minimalist collection of muted tones, while Prect-A-Perfect opened day two, showcasing simple, dark-toned designs. A collaboration with Isuzu Luxury saw House of Ole, Floyd Avenue, and Belhauzen dominate the runway, while Naked Ape, Ngingu, Rubicon, and Sixx6 took center stage later in the day. Day three was headlined by collections from Sober, Mozambique’s Mina, and Imprint, bringing the event to an inspiring close.
