Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali has underscored the transformative potential of the Shabeely Project in the Somali region, a key component of the Dine Initiative. Spanning an impressive 380 hectares, the project is poised for significant future expansion, reflecting Ethiopia’s ongoing development trajectory.

Speaking about his observations during a visit, the Prime Minister emphasized the abundant opportunities across Ethiopia, noting the country’s remarkable advancements in various sectors. “No matter which corner of our country we visit, we are met with boundless opportunities and hope. Ethiopia is on the rise, with remarkable developments unfolding across various sectors despite occasional setbacks,” he said.

Highlighting the critical role of peace in fostering sustainable growth, Prime Minister Abiy called on Ethiopians to prioritize its preservation. “Our collective progress depends on maintaining peace, as it is the foundation upon which sustainable growth and prosperity are built. Let us safeguard this peace to ensure a brighter future for generations to come,” he urged.
