President William Ruto is set to officiate the opening ceremony of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), as announced by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, represented by Honorable Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu, in a recent press statement.

In the statement, Hon. Ndlovu assured the public that all preparations for the 64th edition of the annual fair are well underway. “Preparations for the 2024 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair are on track, with infrastructure refurbishment already in progress and expected to be completed by April 20, 2024,” remarked Hon. Ndlovu.

This year’s trade fair is themed ‘Innovation: The Catalyst for Industrialization and Trade’, reflecting a focus on technological advancements and creative solutions driving economic growth. According to the ministry’s statement, as of March 21st, a total of 466 direct exhibitors have registered for participation, with approximately 97% of the available 49,999 square meters of exhibition space already allocated.

In a nod to the fair’s international appeal, exhibitors from 21 countries are expected to showcase their products and services. Notable participants include representatives from the USA, Italy, UK, South Africa, Belarus, Zambia, Namibia, Sweden, the European Union, and Botswana, among others.

The range of products on display will span various industries, including technology, engineering, fashion, politics, culture, and mining, underscoring the diverse economic sectors represented at the event.

President Ruto’s presence at the opening ceremony underscores the significance of the fair in strengthening economic ties and advancing regional cooperation in Africa.
