Calling all African Designers!! Africa Art Fashion & Food Festival (AAFFF) is looking for six (6) African Designers to showcase at the Living Art Boston (LAB) Summer Fest which will be taking place from the 19th to 20th August 2023 at the Seaport in Boston USA.
This is not just a fashion show, this is an introduction to building a new micro economy in Boston! Living Art Boston (LAB) aims to create meaningful examples of entrepreneurial and collaborative impact for the creative economy in Boston.
This new fashion economy will bring together the biggest and most impactful business leaders, creatives, entrepreneurs, influencers and more across all sorts of industries. LAB Summer Fest will feature industry panel discussion, fashion shows and exclusive live performances that will fuel Boston’s creative ecosystem.
Applications to participate are open to all African designers in Sub-Saharan Africa. Designers have an option to attend the festival in person or to send their collections in the care of AAFFF and Living Art Boston. In addition to showcasing at the festival, AAFFF has partnered with Bogosplit Boston an Indie marketplace for Boston designers to have a POP-UP of the African collections available for purchase after the fashion show.
The pop-up will run for four (4) weeks from 21st August 2023. Founded in 2016 by model turned entrepreneur Priscilla Chigariro, AAFFF celebrates contemporary African culture and finds new markets and audiences for African visual artists, fashion designers, musicians and producers of African products and foods.
The first AAFFF was successfully held in Moscow, Russia in September 2017 and hailed as being the largest exhibition of African culture in Russia.
“We are currently working towards our next full festival which we are planning to host here in Boston in 2024. We will continue to create partnerships and collaborations with local organisations which will ultimately create numerous opportunities for our African artists” said Founder Priscilla Chigariro
