“My dedication and vision are to create a world where women are empowered, confident, and equipped with the resources to achieve their full potential…”
As Zimbabwe is set to host the inaugural Miss Teen of the Universe Zimbabwe on July 20th in Bulawayo at Deluxe Villa and Conference, the patron of the pageant, Miss Nyasha Musavengana, explained to My Afrika Magazine that the main factor that led her to accept the role of patron is her goal and passion for seeing every girl child empowered and achieving their dreams.
Nyasha believes that a person’s background does not determine who should or should not be empowered in life. She is of the view that one has to create their future by believing in their dreams.
“Every young woman deserves a chance to succeed regardless of background or circumstances. As I have often said, the future belongs to those who are bold enough to carve their own path and brave enough to face adversity head-on,” said Nyasha.
She further informed that the Queen who will be selected as the winner during the evening crowning ceremony will be the ambassador of the brand. Hence, she needs to embody the following merits: confidence, steadfastness, culture, and an appreciation and understanding of Zimbabwean culture.
Nyasha praised the aspiring Queens and the team behind the brand, ‘Miss Teen of the Universe Zimbabwe.’ She described them as hard workers who are always ready to meet every task given to them.
She also acknowledged the improvement within Zimbabwe’s teen models compared to other nations. She is planning to extend the empowerment of the models from the ramp to other platforms such as social and economic. She also stated that Miss Teen of the Universe Zimbabwe is not just about runway modeling, but also about training teen models to become future leaders.
The Miss Teen of the Universe Zimbabwe event will be attended by several A-listers from the entertainment sector, politics, and religious leaders.
Nyasha said the main purpose of inviting prominent guests from across the country and beyond the borders of Zimbabwe is to bring Africa together and allow other Africans to learn about and experience Zimbabwe’s tourism and hospitality.
Nyasha also expressed gratitude to all those who have supported the Miss Teen of the Universe Zimbabwe organization.
“My heartfelt gratitude to all those who are going to grace us with their presence and support. As you all know, the journey to this point has been marked by dedication, hard work, and deep commitment,” she said.
She further added that the event is ironically being hosted during a period when Zimbabwe is about to host the SADC summit, which will also be attended by members from other African countries. The event will be the entrée of the menu.
Some of the guests include: Mutale Mwanza (Zambia), Hopewell Chako (Zimbabwe), Fikile from Fixation Designer (Zimbabwe), Miss Becky K (Zimbabwe), Nyasha Mtamangira, who will be the host of the night, Kuda the Choreographer (Zimbabwe), Kelvin Apple Papi – socialist and international model (Zimbabwe), Tariro Gezi (Zimbabwe), and Rami Chuene (SA), amongst others.
