SPOTLIGHT: Michael Spears Jnr is an upcoming musician from Zimbabwe who also works as a relationship coach. The young crooner was born in 2002 in Harare and was raised by his mother and father and grew up with three sisters (one of which is his twin). Spears used to sing in choir before he graduated from high school and eventually turned to singing professionally.

Spears has released the EP titled ‘Runako’ in 2024. One of the EP’s stand out hits includes ‘Drunk In Love’ which is a fast paced love song which speaks of a man’s infatuation with the object of his affection. Acclaimed musician and director Mitch Uta lent a hand to direct the accompanying music video Drunk In Love. Another stand out single from the EP is ‘Super Power’ Super Power(Visualizer) an Afrobeats single in which the singer highlights how his lover his great source of inspiration. Listening to his music, one can tell that he draw a great deal of inspiration from R’n’B and Soul music.

Before the release of his EP, Spears Jr is also credited with releasing singles such as the stand out song ‘Tanaka/Love is Blind’ back in 2022 which was also accompanied by a lush music video Tanaka / Love Is Blind

The singer’s most recent release is a song titled ‘Shirtless’ is yet another fast paced love song in which the singer encourages his lover to bear down naked with him Shirtless (Visualizer). The young singer shows no signs of slowing down as he continues build a name for himself in the country’s music industry.
