The adage, “All work and no play make jack a dull boy, ” will not make sense until one finds themselves at breaking point.
Christmas season is a special time especially for family, friends or lovers bonding, there’s a Fun Friday open mic session planned for today at 1800 hours.
The Christmas ‘Themed Open Mic Session’ will be held at Food Planet, which is located at Corner Jason Moyo and First Street, Harare.
Busy schedules, work frustrations, family to feed is the order of the day and people tend to forget a thing called ‘Winding down.’
From this, the idea of Fun Fridays, Mr Jasper Mhishi’s brainchild, emerged. It is a relaxed platform for individuals who want to come with their better halves, friends, or family to enjoy an experience of something different from the everyday pressures of life.
” I care for people’s mental health and that’s why I started these open mic Fridays. It’s not just for those talented but everyone can hold a mic and have fun,” Mhishi said.
In the true Christmas spirit, food and refreshments will be served by Food Planet. And, the good thing is, you get to have fun, network, and hear new budding voices in song, poetry, comedy and more.
Some of the acts to expect include, Tendai Mhlanga an afro-fusion singer/songwriter; Bongani Talent who also does afro-fusion; Zaks a comedian and Jay Magitah an afro-jazz artist.
The main thrust is for the upcoming artist in various disciplines to showcase their talent and perform in front of a diverse audience.
