With multiple wins at the NAMA and Star FM music awards (this year alone), dancehall singer Freeman HKD had more than a shining chance at the recently held Zimbabwe Music Awards.

The singer bagged three gongs (Best Zimdancehall, Best Album ‘David and Goliath’ and Best Male Artist).

Janet Manyowa, Feli Nandi and Leo Magozz took home two awards each.

Best Sungura: Mark Ngwazi

Best Afro-Pop/Afrofusion: Ishan

Best R’n’B & Soul: Nyasha Timbe

Best Tshibilika: Insimbi Zezhwane

Best Traditional Gospel: Dorcas Moyo

Song of the year: Freeman HKD – Vakomana Vedrip

Best Producer: Oskid

Best Male Artist: Freeman HKD

Best Diaspora Artist: Dr Chaii

Best Videographer: Studio Art Pictures

The awards were hosted at the 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare under the theme ‘Reimagining the Industry’. The glitzy event was hosted by popular radio personalities Amard and Becky K.
