Cricket South Africa (CSA) has revealed a 14-player SA Emerging Men’s squad for a tour of Zimbabwe scheduled from August 1st to 17th. World Sports Betting Western Province all-rounder Mihlali Mpongwana will lead the team in two four-day matches and three one-day matches at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.

Mpongwana, who delivered a stellar performance in the One-Day Cup final for Western Province, also represented South Africa A against West Indies A and was named in the Proteas One-Day International squad against India. He accompanied the national team to New Zealand for a Test series in February.

The squad also features DP World Lions seamer Codi Yusuf and Dafabet Warriors batter Andile Mogakane.

Head Coach Malibongwe Makete expressed confidence in the team, highlighting their readiness after three months of training at the Centre of Excellence in Pretoria. “We’ve got a great squad that covers all bases and this tour presents an opportunity for those players to showcase their abilities against international opposition,” said Makete. He also emphasized his belief in Mpongwana’s capability to lead the team effectively.

The squad left for Zimbabwe on Monday, July 29th. This tournament is anticipated to draw significant attendance at Bulawayo’s Queens Sports Club, especially since local fans have expressed concerns over major international tournaments being held primarily in Harare.
