When Amb. Prof. Dr Stéphane Narcis was crowned Mr Globe Océan Indien 2025, it marked more than a personal triumph, it symbolised the blending of intellect, artistry, and advocacy. Representing France at the Mr France at Miss and Mr Perfect of the Year 2025 competition, Dr Narcis has redefined what it means to wear a crown: not merely as a titleholder, but as a bridge between cultures, disciplines, and generations.
“Winning the title of Mr Globe Océan Indien was truly a turning point for me,” he reflected. “It’s more than just a sash and stage; it’s about proudly embodying the essence of my region, sharing inspiring stories of resilience, and paving the way for exciting new opportunities.”
A scholar of profound distinction, Dr Narcis holds a PhD in Film Studies, multiple Doctorates, and a Postdoctoral Degree by Publication from AUBS University. His academic journey, deeply rooted in the exploration of identity, race, and representation in cinema, has earned him global recognition — including Asia’s Outstanding Researcher of the Year Award and the Mahatma Gandhi Global Peace Award.
“For me, academia and cultural ambassadorship complement each other beautifully,” he explained. “Pageantry has provided me with a fantastic platform to celebrate and embody the values I hold dear in my academic journey: diversity, empowerment, and representation.”
In every sphere he touches, Dr Narcis emphasises authenticity and purpose. “The crown is a platform,” he said. “It enables me to speak to a broader audience, connect with communities, and embody values that matter, diversity, empowerment, and global citizenship.”
Beyond the glamour of pageantry, Dr Narcis remains committed to his work as a professor, researcher, and mentor. His dual identity as an academic and cultural ambassador reflects his belief that intellectual pursuit and artistic expression are not mutually exclusive.
“I want young people from Africa, France, and the Indian Océan to see that they don’t need to choose between being intellectual and creative, academic and artistic,” he said. “We can be all of these things at once.”
Representing both scholarly excellence and cultural pride, he uses his platform to encourage collaboration and social impact. “Whether with brands, organisations, or initiatives that align with culture, education, and empowerment, I believe in the power of partnerships to reach people and make a greater impact,” he said.
For Dr Narcis, Mr Globe Océan Indien is more than a title, it is a calling. “It is an invitation to continue building bridges, to represent my region and my country with pride, and to collaborate with those who share a vision of empowerment and excellence.”
