Empowering the Boy Child, Building Futures is the theme for the newly established modeling franchiser, Mister Heritage Zimbabwe whose competition was introduced in July this year and has had auditions in six of the provinces in the country. Mr Shelton Chiyangwa is the current Licence Holder and national director therefore he is working with a board which includes expects in pageantry and fashion designer.

Mr Heritage Zimbabwe is a unique platform that seeks to identify young men who are well groomed to become ambassadors. They will address and spearhead cultural preservation, youth empowerment, tourism promotion, social cohesion, role models,community development, diversity and inclusion.

“Celebrating and showcasing Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage, including its traditions, customs, and values. Also providing a platform for young men to embrace their identity, build confidence, and develop leadership skills is one of the mandates of Mister Heritage Zimbabwe,” said Mr Chiyangwa.

He further explained how the pageant will play a key role in the tourism and social sector as well as developing the community. “Our aim is highlighting Zimbabwe’s diverse cultural heritage and natural beauty to promote tourism and economic growth. Fostering unity and social cohesion among Zimbabweans, regardless of their cultural background or ethnicity. Supporting community development projects and initiatives, promoting sustainable development and social responsibility,” informed Mr Chiyangwa.

Above all he said models are tasked to celebrate Zimbabwe’s cultural diversity and promoting inclusion, tolerance, and acceptance. He added that they have to be positive role models for young people, demonstrating the importance of cultural pride, education, and community engagement. Mr Heritage Zimbabwe is scheduled for the 22nd of December, with candidates deriving from all four corners of the country.

The setting of the event will be at Harare Showgrounds. The winner will represent Zimbabwe in the Philippines next year and receive additional exciting perks. Runners up are also going to get the chance to represent the country at various international platforms.

“After the event, we are going straight into planning the 2025 competition which will be our 2nd edition. This one will be bigger and more exciting as we are going to have Miss Heritage Zimbabwe, Miss Teen Heritage Zimbabwe, Mr Heritage Zimbabwe and Mr Teen Heritage Zimbabwe,” said Mr Chiyangwa.
