Zimbabwe middle distance athlete based in Dubai, Royal Mabika, is set to stand at an international podium sports industry forum to share his vision with the world as one of the guest speakers at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) capital, Abu Dhabi ,Yas Marina circuit from the 1st till the 2nd of October 2025. The theme of the event is titled: The story of an ordinary athlete.

In an interview with My Afrika Magazine, Mabika said that he is not a newbie in telling his story as an athlete and he believes the upcoming convention is a better place to share more details about his story as he believes its going to be an inspiration to many across the world.

“I have been at the presentation before, and I have always thought this year I can share much at a platform where a lot of people come from different countries.”

Mabika said his main agenda is to focus on highlighting the challenges faced by African athletes.

“The whole idea is to present the challenge that comes with it. Africa has a lot of sporting talent, but at the same time, we don’t have as much resources to cater for every talented person back in our countries,” he said.

As a sports development advocate, Mabika aims to use his platform to attract sponsors and investors to support African athletes as well. He also revealed his plans to feature some of the talented individuals he has supported.

With the Middle East being a global hub for sports investors, Mabika is eager to reach out to them and explore potential partnerships.

Mabika said he understands the practical challenges faced by sports people.

“Because I’m an athlete, I understand things from a practical level. As a sports development advocate, this will assist me in becoming a voice of sports persons, especially individual sports, because that’s where we need support.”

“We want to try and raise the idea to build sports centers in Africa’s remote places,” said Mabika.

Mabika is certain that the presentation will make a major impression because it is being held at one of the largest sports forums in the UAE.

“We are talking of the biggest sports forum in the United Arab Emirates, so I believe it will have an impact, and one way or the other, it will benefit my home country more because the presentation will be an African one, yes, but also looking at Zimbabwe, where I come from.”
