Nigerian Afro-Musician Breaks Record and Makes History

Nigerian Afro Musician singer, Rema has made history as he set a new record on YouTube with his hot ‘Calm Down’ becoming the most watched Nigerian video song.


The song was released in 2022 and the video has over 355 million viewers on YouTube, surpassing ‘Love Nwantiti’ remix by Ckay’s which has 345 million viewers. The song Calm Down was blend of Nigerian Pop and Contemporary R&B.


The song which features multi-award winning international artist Selina Gomez has received support not only in Nigeria and America but international.


In his social media platform Rema, stated out that he had broken he record within 3 years in the music industry.
He further on said that he started popularism on Facebook and in the history of African music he is the artist that has ever recorded more than 35 million listeners in a month.


Rema whose biological name is Divine Ikubor is estimated to be worthy net of 1 million.
He is originally from Nigeria, began his music career at church at was later discovered by D’Prince the CEO of Jozingworl Records.
In May 2021, he announced that he will be calling his style of music “Afrorave” a subsequence of Afrobeats.

The 22 year old, has released tracks that include: 44, Ginger Me, Dumebi and Are you there amongst other tracks.
Rema’s songs have also featured in the US Billboard Afrobeat’s Chart.
