Namibia and Zimbabwe have secured their places at the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 after winning semifinal matches in the African qualifier on Thursday. Namibia beat Tanzania by 63 runs, while Zimbabwe cruised past Kenya by seven wickets.

The tournament will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February–March 2026. For Namibia, it will be a fourth consecutive appearance, while Zimbabwe return to the global stage after four years, having missed the last edition.

In the first semifinal, Namibia posted 174/6, led by Gerhard Erasmus (55) and Ruben Trumpelmann (61), before restricting Tanzania to 111/8. JJ Smit and Ben Shikongo took three wickets each.

Zimbabwe’s bowlers, led by Blessing Muzarabani, contained Kenya to 122/6 despite Rakep Patel’s 65. Brian Bennett (51) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (39) ensured a smooth chase in just 15 overs.

The 2026 edition will feature 20 teams, with India entering as defending champions. Zimbabwe and Namibia join already qualified sides including Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, USA, West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Canada, Italy, and the Netherlands. Three more spots will be confirmed by October.
