The Fourth Ordinary Session of the Sixth Parliament of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) is set to commence with an official opening ceremony tomorrow, November 4, 2024, marking the start of a significant two-week agenda focused on education across the continent.
This session, which will run through to November 15, 2024, brings together African parliamentarians to discuss and strategize around the African Union’s (AU) theme for 2024: “Educate an African Fit for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Education Systems for Increased Access to Inclusive, Lifelong, Quality, and Relevant Learning in Africa.”
Throughout the session, delegates will explore ways to enhance education systems across African nations, emphasizing inclusive, adaptable, and lifelong learning opportunities aimed at equipping individuals with skills suitable for modern economic and social landscapes.
Discussions will highlight pressing issues such as the need for stronger education infrastructure, digital access, and sustainable practices that ensure all Africans receive quality education that meets the demands of the 21st century.
As African countries face both global and regional challenges, the PAP’s focus on resilient education systems underscores a commitment to fostering long-term stability and prosperity through education.
