Lagos, Nigeria: The Dangote Petroleum Refinery, part of Africa’s largest diversified manufacturing conglomerate, Dangote Group, issued a statement today addressing recent claims from the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN). The statement clarifies that the refinery has not received any payments from IPMAN members for the purchase of refined petroleum products, directly responding to allegations of payment issues.

According to the Dangote Group’s release, the refinery currently has no direct business dealings with IPMAN. Payment for petroleum products, the statement emphasized, has been processed through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). Additionally, NNPCL has not approved or authorized the release of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from the Dangote refinery to IPMAN. The refinery urges IPMAN members to register and make direct payments to ensure access to petroleum products, citing that Dangote can currently load up to 2,900 trucks per day and evacuate products via sea routes.

In its statement, Dangote also advised stakeholders to refrain from unfounded claims and speculative media statements, noting that these could hamper economic efforts. Emphasizing the importance of unity, the Group aligned itself with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of a collaborative approach to national economic re-engineering.
