MODERN DAY MOTHER THERESA CHANGING LIVES

Wayne said her background shaped her into the woman she is, whose golden heart sees her travelling into secluded communities to help as much as she can. A logistician by profession, published poet, writer and aspiring life coach, she is a passionate humanitarian who believes in giving her hands to serve and her heart to love

“I started the humanitarian organization in March 2018 so as to help the less privileged to live worthy lives as well as nurturing young people, women and men. I believe the foundation of I Care You Care Trust was motivated by how I grew up after losing my father at the age of 7 and I’m also convinced that it is a calling from God. Every time I help someone, I feel a deep surge of happiness,” Wayne said.

The organisation has measured steady growth with some projects focusing on developmental empowerment while some are relief centred.

“We have projects that are relief oriented like when we donated school stockings at Glen Norah 2 High, visited Bako ReDonhodzo Old People’s Home for interaction day and donated groceries, helped the Bikita cyclone affected area while we have also launched the Asset based approach initiative where we provide funds for our beneficiaries to start sustainable small projects” she revealed.

In January, Wayne and her team started the education support programme targeting primary pupils at Chimukoko school in Mudzi and are also providing clothes for unborn babies whose mothers face economic and social challenges.

“Our vision encompasses social inclusion of our beneficiaries, aspiration, project development and cohesion; nurturing today’s young people and providing the best care for the less privileged mainly by building orphanages, centres, homes or any institution necessary for the welfare of the underprivileged, young and elderly in the society,” the young humanitarian explained.

Asked on what her message for the month of women is, she said, “In this month of women, my message is that women should stop competing and synergise because we rise by lifting each other up. Always make it possible for the other woman struggling to attain her crown. Let us be ambassadors of humanity and God will surely, bless us!”
